The below job description will outline this position of: Fire & Security Engineer
Typically, this person will be responsible for servicing, commissioning, fault finding, small works installations, site surveys and supporting fire system design projects across a broad customer base.
Duties and responsibilities of the Fire & Security Engineer will be:
- Service and commissioning of fire systems
- Reactive and scheduled maintenance visits including PPMs
- Carry out small works and installations
- Assist with site surveys and fire system designs as required
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders during installations and commissioning works
- Collate commissioning information and assist with O&M documentation
- Support other engineers and assist with technical site issues as required
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide second line phone support when required
Qualifications and requirements for the Fire & Security Engineer:
- Previous experience working on fire alarm systems
- Experience with service, commissioning and fault finding
- Ability to carry out installations and small works independently
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Strong communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
- Willingness to undertake manufacturer and industry training courses
- Flexible approach to working hours and occasional overnight stays
Working Hours & Package:
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
- Flexibility required between 06:30 and 18:30 as business needs dictate
- Overtime paid at basic rate Monday to Friday, time and a half Saturdays, double time Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Door to door travel paid
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Company van provided during probation, suitable vehicle provided thereafter
- Fuel card provided
- Laptop and mobile phone supplied
- Pension scheme available under auto-enrolment legislation
- Expenses, accommodation and meals covered for overnight stays when required
