The below job description will outline this position of: Electrical Technician (Marine)

Typically, this person will join an innovative marine technology company focused on high-performance electric propulsion. You’ll be responsible for installing, commissioning, and supporting electric and hybrid systems across a global customer base. This is a hands-on engineering role with a mix of electrical and mechanical tasks, as well as customer interaction and diagnostics.

Duties and responsibilities of the Electrical Technician (Marine)

  • Commission, install, and validate electric/hybrid propulsion systems on marine vessels
  • Manufacture custom wiring looms (LV and HV) from technical drawings
  • Assist with mechanical/electrical modifications and system upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and rectify electrical and mechanical faults in the field
  • Review CAN data and take logs for the software team
  • Produce clear documentation for assembly, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Support customer-facing events and global product demonstrations
  • Liaise with engineering teams remotely to resolve complex technical issues

Qualifications and requirements for the Service & Support Engineer:

  • Qualified in a relevant electrical or electronic engineering discipline
  • This would someone from a Marine, Aerospace or Automotive background
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and installation skills
  • Hands-on experience working with 12/24VDC and high-voltage systems (e.g., 400VDC)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with CAN systems and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Full driving licence and valid passport

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a marine environment
  • Boat-handling qualifications
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
