Typically this person

Will be an experienced Electrician with a strong background in commercial and industrial electrical installations. The successful candidate will be working on a variety of projects across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas, including MOD sites, carrying out lighting upgrades, rewiring works, testing and inspection, and cable installation activities.

The role requires a flexible approach to working hours, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities of Electrician

Carrying out electrical installation work on commercial and industrial sites.Testing and inspection of electrical systems and installations.Fault finding and rectification of electrical faults.Lighting upgrade projects, including replacement and installation of new lighting systems.Rewiring and refurbishment works.Cable pulling, cable installation, and containment work.Working in accordance with electrical regulations, site procedures, and health & safety requirements.Completing relevant documentation and test certification.Ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and within project timescales.Liaising effectively with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).18th Edition Wiring Regulations.Experience in Testing & Inspection.Proven experience carrying out cable pulling and installation works.Strong fault-finding abilities.ECS/JIB Gold Card.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

CompEx Certification.ATEX knowledge and experience.Current VIVO Card.Previous experience working on MOD sites.Experience within industrial or high-security environments.

Additional Information

Contract position.£30.00 per hour.Payment available via CIS or LTD Company.Projects located throughout Portsmouth and surrounding areas.Working hours typically range from 8–12 hours per day depending on project requirements.
