Typically, this person will working on the repair of a luxury racing yacht, focusing on the laminating and repair work on the interior structural side. They will ensure high-quality standards in line with marine specifications and production schedules.

HSB Technical’s client is a very established and well-regarded business entity within the marine sector, known for producing high-performance RIBs for both commercial and defence applications.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Laminator:

• Hand lay-up 
• Laminating & Repairing the hull and cracks
• Trimming, sanding, and preparing moulds and finished products
• Reading and working from technical drawings and laminating specifications
• Carrying out quality checks and repairs as needed
• Ensuring clean, safe, and efficient work practices within the workshop

Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Laminator:

• Proven experience in GRP/composite laminating within the marine sector
• Ability to work from technical drawings and follow lay-up schedules
• Understanding of composite materials and processes such as hand lay
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
