The below job description outlines the position of Machinery Supervisor – LNG Newbuilds.

This contract role is based in Korea and is focused on supervising the machinery and main engine systems of LNG newbuild vessels. The Machinery Supervisor will work closely with shipyard teams, owners, and classification societies to ensure that all machinery installation and commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise machinery installation, commissioning, and testing on LNG newbuild vessels.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and classification society requirements.
• Coordinate with site teams, project management, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor quality and performance of machinery systems throughout construction.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions as required.
• Provide reports and updates to project management on progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proven experience in LNG newbuild vessels.
• Strong knowledge of machinery, propulsion systems, and main engines on LNG carriers.
• Experience working in a shipyard environment preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong team player with the ability to manage and coordinate site teams effectively.
• Willingness and ability to live and work in Korea for the duration of the contract.
