Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:

• Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly duties in line with engineering specifications.
• Work on site at Faslane on naval and defence-related projects.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Use appropriate tools and equipment to fit, install, and maintain mechanical systems.
• Ensure all work is carried out to strict health and safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other trades and engineering staff to meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills & Qualifications of the Mechanical Fitter:

• Security Clearance (SC Cleared) – Mandatory
• Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent recognised qualification
• Previous experience working in marine, shipbuilding, defence, or heavy engineering sectors
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and installation methods
• Ability to work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to health and safety procedures
