HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy, and Aerospace sectors. We are currently supporting several businesses across the UK and overseas with both permanent and contract vacancies.
We are now looking for a Welder to join one of our established maritime clients based in Portsmouth.
We are seeking a skilled Welder to support steel fabrication and welding works on a split barge project. 

Key Responsibilities of the Welder/Fabricator:

•MIG and MAG welding on steel components
•Welding steel plate (various thicknesses) to a high standard
•Reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings and instructions
•Plate burning using Ox y-Propane equipment
•Use of general workshop equipment including guillotine, steel workers, grinders, and basic hand tools

    
Requirements of the Welder/Fabricator:

•Proven experience in MIG & MAG welding on steel
•Able to support installation, repairs, and general fabrication tasks
•Full UK driving licence
•Willingness to work occasional weekends and short stints away from home if required
•Eligible to work on MOD sites (security clearance will be arranged and paid for by the client)

Working Hours:

    Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:30
    Overtime paid at time and a third from 15:30 – 17:30

    Breaks:
    Morning: 10:00 – 10:15
    Lunch: 13:00 – 13:30
