The below job description will outline this position of: Yacht Designer

Typically, this person will be responsible for developing yacht designs from concept through to production. Working within a collaborative design team, you will create detailed technical information, support production activities, and contribute to the development of world-class luxury sailing yachts.

HSB Technical’s client is an established and highly regarded manufacturer within the marine sector.

Duties and responsibilities of the Yacht Designer:

• Develop yacht designs, deck layouts, assemblies and fabrications.
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for manufacture and production.
• Create and maintain accurate technical design information and documentation.
• Work closely with Production teams to identify and resolve design-related issues.
• Liaise with suppliers and fabricators to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Support projects throughout the full design and build lifecycle, from concept through to launch.

Qualifications and requirements for the Yacht Designer:

• Previous experience within yacht design, marine design, naval architecture or a similar engineering design environment.
• Strong 3D CAD modelling and technical drawing experience.
• Ability to interpret and produce detailed technical information.
• Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including metal or composite construction.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with NX CAD, sailing yacht systems or Naval Architecture would be advantageous.
