The below job description outlines the position of Yard Operative.

Typically, this person will support the daily operation of the marina boatyard, assisting with vessel movements, yard maintenance, and customer support while ensuring safe working practices at all times.

HSB Technical’s client is a well-established business within the marina and leisure boating sector.

Duties and responsibilities of the Yard Operative:

• Support the Yard Manager with daily boatyard operations
• Operate yard equipment to lift, launch, scrub boats and step/unstep masts (training provided)
• Assist with allocating boats to maximise yard space
• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the yard and equipment
• Complete routine equipment, safety and site checks
• Carry out basic boat maintenance, cleaning and repairs
• Provide a high level of customer service within the yard
• Follow all Health & Safety, fire and emergency procedures
• Report operational or safety concerns to the Yard Manager
• Undertake additional duties as required

Qualifications and requirements for the Yard Operative:

• Previous marina or boatyard experience (preferred)
• Willingness to train on lifting and handling equipment
• Good awareness of Health & Safety practices
• Practical, reliable and team-focused approach
• Flexible with working hours, including weekends
