Typically, this person will work both in the workshop and internationally in the field, carrying out the service, repair, overhaul, removal and installation of marine and land-based turbochargers. This role involves a high level of travel and requires flexibility to meet customer demands.

Duties and responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer (Turbochargers) based in Southampton:
• Carry out the service, maintenance and repair of exhaust gas turbochargers
• Work on turbochargers installed on a wide range of vessels and land-based power plants
• Attend global assignments, with travel expected for a significant proportion of the role
• Support workshop operations when not deployed in the field
• Ensure minimal downtime for customers by completing work efficiently and to a high standard
• Work on jobs that may require extended periods on-site to meet operational demands
• Use measuring equipment to record and analyse data against expected tolerances
• Produce clear and accurate service reports
• Work independently and problem-solve in challenging environments
Qualifications and requirements for the Field Service Engineer (Turbochargers) based in Southampton:
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a marine engineering or similar engineering role
• Proven experience working on turbochargers manufactured by ABB / Accelleron / MAN Energy Solutions / MET (essential)
• Experience working on newer generation turbochargers (desirable)
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach to work, including extended periods away from home
• Good written and verbal communication skills
