Typically, this person will work as part of a production team building new-buildRIBs, focusing on the laminating and composite work required to form the hulls, decks, and associated structures. They will ensure high-quality standards in line with marine specifications and production schedules.

HSB Technical’s client is a veryestablished and well-regarded business entity within the marine sector, known for producing high-performance RIBs for both commercial and defence applications.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Laminator:

• Hand lay-up and vacuum baggingof composite materials, including GRP and carbon fibre
• Laminating components such as hulls, decks, consoles, and internal fittings for new-build RIBs
• Trimming, sanding, and preparing moulds and finished products
• Reading and working fromtechnical drawings and laminating specifications
• Carrying out quality checks and repairs as needed
• Ensuring clean, safe, and efficient work practices within the workshop

Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Laminator:

• Provenexperience in GRP/composite laminating within the marine sector (ideally on RIBs or small craft)
• Ability to work from technical drawings and follow lay-up schedules
• Understanding of composite materials and processes such as hand lay, infusion, and vacuum bagging
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
